  • Extend an Invitation to therapists into the world of those who live with Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders and learn how to approach their individual needs appropriately.

Most manual therapists are taught how to release restricted tissue; tissue that is bound, leading to reduced range of motion. But what happens if the tissue is lax? A whole new paradigm of treatment emerges!

Topics Covered

  • Connective tissue; what is it and what does it do?

  • EDS Types. Most content will revolve around Hypermobile EDS (hEDS)

  • Gentle manual therapy techniques with a specific intent on addressing lax connective tissue (OsteoFascial Integration).

  • Comorbidities

  • Contraindications and Cautions

Workshop Schedule (times are subject to change slightly)

The workshop is designed to be taught over 4 days but may be offered as a 3-day workshop.
Days 1 & 2 are dedicated to didactic and experiential learning, and OsteoFascial Integration lab. The day typically begins at 9 am and finishes at 5pm.
Days 2 & 3 are dedicated to interaction with volunteers from the EDS community in a Roundtable discussion and OsteoFascial Integration treatment.
Detailed daily schedule will be emailed.

Volunteers from the EDS Community are enthusiastically invited to participate in the Roundtable discussion and act as volunteer clients during the workshop so that the students may learn FROM you. In turn, you will receive treatment from the students based on the techniques they learn during the workshop and you will have an opportunity to educate your regional manual therapists in how best to help you when you need them.
